Mesa Strip™
(Spore Strip Biological Indicators)
Mesa Strip is a conventional Biological Indicator for monitoring steam, ethylene oxide, dry heat and
radiation industrial sterilization processes. It contains bacterial spores on a paper carrier sealed
within a convenient peel-open glassine envelope. After the sterilization process, the BI is aseptically
placed in a soybean casein digest medium and incubated at the appropriate temperature for 7 days.

EZ™ Test

EZTest is a self-contained Biological Indicator for monitoring steam or ethylene oxide sterilization.
EZTest contains bacterial spores on a paper carrier packaged within a small, thermoplastic culture
tube. Inside the thermoplastic culture tube is a sealed glass ampoule of specially formulated soybean
casein digest culture medium containing a color indicator that turns a dramatic yellow when spores
grow. EZTest is easy to use and produces visual results within 48 hours without laboratory transfers.

Magna Amp™ (Solution Sterilization Biological Indicators)
MagnaAmp is a self-contained Biological Indicator ampoule for monitoring steam sterilization of
liquids in ampoules, large containers or washer sterilizers. A small 1 mL snap-top constricted neck
glass ampoule contains spores of Geobacillus stearothermophilus suspended in a specially
formulated culture medium that turns a dramatic yellow when the spores grow. The ampoule is so
designed to sink to the bottom of large containers for the most effective validation of the
sterilization cycle. Magna Amp provides easy visual confirmation of sterilization within 48 hours
without the need for difficult and time-consuming laboratory work.

SterilAmp II 5230 is also a compact, self-contained Biological Indicator in a small sealed glass tube
(0.3 mL) for monitoring low-temperature steam sterilization processes using Bacillus subtilis “5230”
as the spore species. The D values are given on for temperatures as low as 110ºC in the CoA. It turns
a dramatic yellow when spores grow at the recommended incubation temperature.

DriAmp®
(Culturing Set with Releasat Media)
DriAmp is a Biological Indicator ideally used for high-temperature applications where normal spore
strip indicators cannot be used. The spores are inoculated on silica powder and placed in a snap-top
constricted neck ampoule. It comes with a Releasat culture medium which has been formulated to
produce results in just 72 hours.

Spore Suspensions (Geobacillus stearothermophilus, Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus pumilus)
Mesa Spore Suspension is a calibrated suspension of bacterial spores appropriate for preparing
custom Biological Indicators for monitoring steam, ethylene oxide, dry heat and radiation industrial
sterilization processes. Each vial contains 10mL of a known concentration of spores suspended in
40% ethanol or aqueous solution. The concentrations are specified per 0.1 ml.

Proline PCD
(Process Challenge Device)
ProLine is a Biological Indicator system designed for use in the validation or monitoring of
sterilization cycles of tubing ranging from 1/8” to 5/8” tubing ID. The ProLine PCD (Process Challenge
Device) contains a filter paper disc inoculated with bacterial spores of Geobacillus
stearothermophilus
(for Steam) or Bacillus atrophaeus (for EO). The spore disc is packaged in a glassine envelope and is
located in the center of the ProLine housing. If adequate sterilant penetration occurs, the spores on
the disc will be deactivated and verify an adequate sterilization cycle.

Custom Mesa Strip™ Steam
Custom MesaStrip Steam consists of paper microstrips inoculated with a sterilization-resistant spore
population packaged in a glassine envelope, or bulk without an envelope. The glassine envelope
serves as a microbial barrier that protects the spore strip from post-sterilization contamination.
Custom MesaStrip Steam is a biological indicator (BI) microstrip used in monitoring the efficacy of
steam sterilization processes where traditional BIs are too large.

in a peel-open Tyvek® / Tyvek® envelope.
